  1. Post update

The most exciting part of that first half was the missing teeth at Accrington Stanley. Anyone claimed them yet?

  2. Alan Ferguson: Not often I watch a 5:30 Saturday kick off which doesn’t involve LFC. I’ve picked this one. It’s woeful. Brighton literally have no clue how to stick a decent ball into the box – and they’ve had chances to do that. Not a single shot!

  3. Post update

    HT: Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

    Warren Aspinall

    Ex-Brighton striker on BBC Sussex

To be fair Harry Kane hasn’t been in the game at all but it’s Brighton’s downfall and it was a rush of blood to the head from Shane Duffy. It was definitely a penalty.

  4. HALF-TIME

    Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

    The first half is over.

Brighton fans boo the referee but there isn’t too much noise inside the Amex. A very flat game so far. It needs spicing up!

  5. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

Brighton move the ball well to get out from the back but Mousa Dembele charges across to slide in and give away a throw-in.

John: Can’t put your hand up and say it’s not deliberate, even if you’re protecting your face.

Broadie: This game has been boring so far. The game needed that penalty, hopefully something else happens now.

Lee: Why are Brighton fans so angry towards the referee? It was one of the most blatant penalties you will see all season.

    Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

That’s the sixth penalty in a row that Harry Kane has buried.

    Clinical.

  8. ‘It’s a definite penalty’

    Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

    Paul Mortimer

Former Charlton player on BBC London 94.9

    A penalty, wow!

Your hand doesn’t need to be there I’m afraid. It’s a definite penalty. Why is his hand there? It’s an unnatural position and it doesn’t need to be there

You have to feel for Brighton as I don’t think they deserve that.

  9. GOAL – Brighton 0-1 Tottenham

    Harry Kane

    Harry Kane does the business.

He smashes it into the left-hand corner and joins Jermain Defoe as the joint-fifth goalscorer for Tottenham with 143.

  10. PENALTY

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Hang on Monty, this changes things!

Tottenham have been awarded a penalty as Glenn Murray moves his arm towards the ball as he jumps up in the wall!

  12. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Gaetan Bong slides in late and brings Harry Kane down on the edge of the area. This is a very good position for the free-kick.

Kieran Trippier territory. And he has jogged straight over to claim it as his.

  13. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

    Meanwhile, over at Accy…

  14. ‘Brighton looking solid’

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

    Warren Aspinall

    Ex-Brighton striker on BBC Sussex

Brighton are keeping their shape now and having struggled early on, they are dealing with Tottenham’s threats.

  15. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

    Paul Mortimer

Former Charlton player on BBC London 94.9

For the first time a decent ball in behind from Spurs. Moura has enough time to bring the ball down and clip the ball past the defender.

Chris Hughton would have taken this before the game. Spurs are just too slow and ponderous in their play.

  16. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

So far, the football has matched the weather. A bit grim, a bit grey and not very pleasing on the eye.

But the rain has started to dry up so hopefully the football starts to brighten up too!

Spurs are still controlling the possession but no breakthrough yet.

  17. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Sloppy play from Tottenham as they give the ball away in midfield. Shane Duffy plays a long ball down the line for Glenn Murray.

The striker is offside so he pulls away from the action but Anthony Knockaert can give chase and reaches it.

His cross goes long once again and the chance is wasted.

  18. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham have all the possession but nothing to show for it so far.

If this was an action movie, it would be rated two stars at best!

  19. Post update

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

Son Heung-min is caught offside – but only just. He miscues his shot anyway but Brighton need to be careful of those runs in behind.

  20. ‘Brighton are comfortable’

    Brighton 0-0 Tottenham

    Paul Mortimer

Former Charlton player on BBC London 94.9

Spurs are too slow in possession, it’s too easy to defend against them.

Brighton are fairly comfortable at the moment.

When Brighton have got the ball they need to get it up the pitch, they’re far too deep. They need to get the ball to Glenn Murray.
