All times stated are UK

  1. Solskjaer coy on job talk

Asked if victory in the next three games will get him the United job on a full-time basis, Solskjaer says: “That is too simple. You need to think of a different way to ask the question.

“There are a few more months of season for me to do whatever I can do for the club.”

  2. ‘PSG even more unpredictable’

Solskjaer: “Of course we’re playing against some top teams in the next few games but we are just focused on the next one.

“We don’t look too far ahead because then you lose your focus. I want my players to embrace the occasion.”

United’s interim boss is asked about Paris St-Germain missing Neymar, while there is an injury doubt concerning Edinson Cavani.

“Any team that are missing players will feel the effect but that will give the others the chance.

“So it makes them more unpredictable, but we’ve got a good guesstimate of how they’re preparing for the game.”

  3. ‘The time is right’

Solskjaer: “We are confident. We have found what team we have, we are looking like a team, and we are agreeing on how we should approach games.

“If ever there was a time for us to play big games – it’s now.”

  4. Post update

Has it been too long since Old Trafford hosted a big European night?

Solskjaer: “Yes. Both the supporters and the players have been looking forward to a night like this because they have always been special.

“I just want my players to embrace the game.

“My last one was when we beat Rome 7-1. It was a typical Old Trafford night.”

  5. Post update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “We don’t like to look too far ahead but I’m looking forward to this.”

A journalist from France asks Solskjaer a question in French.

Fortunately Anthony Martial is sat right next to his manager and is able to translate the question into English.

  7. Post update

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is running late.

Not so Paul Scholes who is facing the media right now after being named Oldham Athletic boss.

“There have been times in the past where it has been an option for me, but it didn’t seem right. The time feels right now,” he says.

News from the Paris St-Germain camp.

The champions of France are already without Neymar and they may also be missing Edinson Cavani too.

The pair have scored seven Champions League goals between them this season.

Cavani injured a tendon in his hip after scoring a penalty in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Bordeaux.

In a statement, PSG said the length of Cavani’s absence “will depend on the evolution of the injury over the coming days”.

  9. Valencia & Darmian miss training

Defenders Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian were the only significant absentees from the open section of Manchester United’s training session this morning.

Neither were expected to be involved on Tuesday.

The game will be interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first in the competition proper.

His previous matches with Molde were all qualifiers, against Ventspils of Latvia, FC Basel, Sligo Rovers and Legia Warsaw.
