On Friday morning, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan got sandy on the royal tour, hitting Bondi Beach barefoot.
The hand-holding duo were showered with leis, and Meghan wore a billowing striped sundress for the seaside occasion, showing the rare royal shoulder.
It’s Day 4 of the royal couple’s tour Down Under, and while on the beach Meghan and Harry met a local surfing community group at Bondi Beach, known as OneWave. The royals then took part in a “Fluro Friday” session, where people of all ages sit in a large circle and share their experiences with mental health issues. Harry also waxed a surfboard, to locals’ delight.
One of the women gathered told the Daily Mail’s Rebecca English that Meghan opened up about her pregnancy while chatting with the locals.
“Meghan told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag,” a woman named Charlotte, who is also expecting and had her two-year-old son, Finn, with her, told the Daily Mail. “She said she was up at 4.30 a.m. this morning doing yoga in her room as she couldn’t sleep.”
Later Friday, the duke and duchess will take part in a youth advocate program that aims to unite and inspire young people to be advocates for cohesion and inclusion in their communities.
Prince Harry will then climb the Sydney Harbor Bridge to officially raise the Invictus Flag, marking the arrival of the Invictus Games to Sydney.
The pregnant duchess will get a respite as he climbs, before a cocktail reception closes the day.
