The long wait is over for fans of Space Jam… because we now know when ‘Space Jam 2’ will hit theaters – July 16, 2021.
That announcement was made Thursday night and Entertainment Weekly has more details:
After years of rumors and discussion, Space Jam 2 is officially a go with LeBron James starring, Terence Nance directing, and Black Panther‘s Ryan Coogler producing. It has all the makings of a potential All-Star team — and yet they still have to fill out the roster.
LeBron confirmed during All-Star Weekend that the movie would be happening, but it became official when SpringHill Entertainment tweeted this Thursday night:
Twitter had plenty of reactions… and jokes:
2021? That’s like 600 years from now?

LeBron is gonna trade Lola, Bugs, Daffy, and Bill Murray halfway through the movie for one of the monstars

Space Jam 2 is the greatest thing to happen to cinema since Hollywood’s golden age

LeBron has a player option due 15 days prior to this release.
He’s gonna opt in for one more year.
At the end of Space Jam 2, after he defeats the Monstars……..
HE ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT AT THE END OF THE YEAR

Definitely expecting one of the Monstars in Space Jam 2 to take Kevin Durant’s skills and just become a giant snake. Watch.

The whole issue with Space Jam 2 is that I can come up with 5 guys who would beat LeBron, I’ve seen him lose. When Space Jam came out, there wasn’t a starting 5 that could beat Jordan.

I love Lebron but there’s a magic quality to Jordan’s public persona, that won’t be matched. Space Jam 2 will be great, but not better.

The first incredibles was better than the second in my opinion but I highly doubt space jam 2 will be better than the og, it’s too much of a classic🤷🏾♂️
